Car parking
There are limited car parking spaces for family members attending the Coronial Admissions and Enquiries (CA&E) office. Staff at the CA&E office will make parking arrangements for family members who need to come to the State Coronial Services Centre.
There is limited metered street parking available in Kavanagh Street and nearby Moore Street. The closest public parking facility is located on the corner of Kavanagh Street and Power Street. Casual public car parking is available at the Arts Centre in Sturt Street, Southbank.
Public transport
Train: Flinders Street Station is the nearest train station to the State Coronial Services Centre.
Tram: The nearest tram stop is on the corner of Sturt Street and Southbank Boulevard, Stop 17, line 1.
Bus: The nearest bus stop is on the corner of Southbank Boulevard and Fawkner Street. This bus stop services the 216, 219, 220 and 605 lines.
Coronial Admissions and Enquiries
The CA&E office is located at 65 Kavanagh Street, Southbank. The CA&E is where deceased people are taken into the care of the court. The CA&E office operates 24 hours a day, however, identification viewings and release of people for funerals are usually conducted within normal business hours.
Regional Coroners Courts
Most coronial inquests are held at 65 Kavanagh Street, Southbank.
In regional Victoria local magistrates’ courts will often sit as a coroners court when a death or a fire being investigated by a coroner occurred in that area.
